FAQ
Common questions from buyers evaluating RADAR.
Product
Does RADAR execute or orchestrate workflows? No. RADAR is an independent monitoring and evidence layer. It observes, records, and produces compliance evidence. It does not run agents, orchestrate workflows, or replace your infrastructure. Evidence from an independent layer carries more weight with auditors.
Can we self-host everything? Yes. RADAR is designed for self-hosted deployment. No cloud services required. All data stays inside your infrastructure.
What data leaves our infrastructure? Nothing. Zero cloud dependencies. No phone-home. No telemetry. In air-gapped mode, zero outbound connections.
Does RADAR require AKIOS OSS or EnforceCore? No. RADAR is technically independent. AKIOS OSS and EnforceCore are separate projects demonstrating enforcement depth. They are siblings, not prerequisites.
Comparisons
vs LangSmith / LangFuse? Those are LLM observability tools for engineers — "what is my LLM doing right now?" RADAR answers "can I prove what my AI agents did to a regulator?" The output is a structured evidence pack, not a trace visualization.
vs guardrails tools? Guardrails prevent specific behaviors at the prompt level. RADAR produces reviewable compliance evidence from existing workflows. Guardrails prevent; RADAR proves. Complementary.
vs SIEM? SIEMs correlate security events across infrastructure. RADAR specializes in AI agent workflow evidence and forwards structured evidence to your SIEM. RADAR is the AI evidence layer that feeds your SIEM.
vs building our own? Building a compliance-grade pipeline requires trace ingestion, PII detection, policy evaluation, control mapping, SIEM forwarding, retention enforcement, and export packaging. Most teams spend 3–6 months. RADAR reduces this to a one-day deployment.
Evaluation & buying
How does the free evaluation work? Deploy the same RADAR binary. No license key required. Includes full evidence collection, 7-day retention, 10K traces/day, all export formats, and dashboard access.
Can we evaluate without production traffic? Yes. Push sample traces via REST API or upload a log file from staging. RADAR processes them through the full pipeline before connecting live traffic.
How long does evaluation take? Most teams complete in 1–2 weeks. Day 1: deploy. Day 2: connect sources. Days 3–5: validate evidence. Days 5–7: configure SIEM. Days 7–14: security review and procurement.
Can we deploy air-gapped? Yes. Designed for zero-trust environments. No external API calls. License validation supports offline activation.
